As aspie with many aspie friends i can say that this is the best depistion of been in the spectrum. It's not always like that for everyone, aspie women in particular are much more emotional than male. But it' always a black and white type of emotional perception.

Well observed. It has always been my view that it isn't that Data never had emotions before the emotion chip. It is more like they were latent or ambient at most but full process could not be experienced as we would until the final step taken in Generations. That said, as posed in the episode "Measure of a Man" it is asked by the woman with the gavel, does Data have a soul? I like to think Data indeed would have a soul as he is much more than a console and like Pinnochio, was maybe granted life by something beyond the mundane who became the son to his own creator.
I remember this episode, in my opinion Data was more human than this woman who jumped from one man to another for validation, she actually “deleted” the previous guy in order to find a new one, Data just did to her what she did to the others,
Spot can sense something.. probably not emotion from Data, but the resonance of Jenna's emotional ambience throughout the room, that the room itself became sad and reflected off of Data
Well sweet Jesus, ain't this the perfect metaphor for MY life... Only difference is,...I have more than one cat. Really, who needs a woman when you have the unconditional love of a small army of cute little fuzzy mammals who just want to sit on your lap and purr?? They eat tuna paste from cans and shit in a box, hell, they even clean themselves. Aside from the lack of any physical relations, I find relationships with cats superior in nearly every other way.
There's also the lack of conversation. Cats might be descent listeners, but they're pretty lousy at feedback. Don't get me wrong, I love my own cat dearly and he keeps me company quite well when I'm lonely... but I do still miss the late night talks with my old GF into the wee hours.

It's excruciating. The whole time you're just sitting there in your mind going "Oh my God, she never shuts up! did she just pronounce espresso "expresso"?...idiot...no one cares that you made "the best" coffee for your roommates in college...what a terrible story... should I just tell her I dont feel well and leave? Oh my God, wait...she just said "literally" again, that's 12 gaddamn times! Oh please shup up.... To include: blind dates, first dates, flirted/slept with at a party, hooked up with after bar or club, random hookup with co-worker, etc... I had a pretty serious streak in my 20s. LOL. But you know what? Playing the field helps you really reinforce what you like and don't. I don't regret a thing, even the awful clingy insane ones. Not even my ex-wife.
